New York, NY (August 18, 2011) – New York Market Radio (NYMRAD) announces“The Disrupters,” a panel of digital revolutionaries that includes Chris Hughes, co-founder of Facebook and creator of My.BarrackObama.com, who will articulate the leverage and value of the audio and digital combination during listen! The Sound of Influence, the Radio-centric event during Advertising Week, on Wednesday, October 5th, 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square.

With an already stellar line-up of digital trendsetters, including the recently announced keynote from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, listen! The Sound of Influence is one of the most sought-after events during Advertising Week.

Ezra Kucharz, President, Local Digital Media at CBS

“We are very excited to present these digital leaders in a panel discussion on how to leverage Radio’s inherent synergies with the Internet, new media, and other disruptive technologies,” said Deborah Beagan, Executive Director, NYMRAD.

“Digital luminaries like Chris Hughes and Biz Stone will bring incredible insights that marketers and their agencies can use to maximize Radio’s one-on-one relationship with the listener through its vertical extensions on new and emerging digital platforms,” noted Alex Cameron, Chair of NYMRAD. “Chris masterminded the digital and social media campaign of Barrack Obama and changed political campaign fundraising forever.”

After co-founding Facebook in 2004, Hughes went on to revolutionize political campaign fundraising by mobilizing hundreds of thousands of Barrack Obama supporters through the use of social networking and the development of the My.BarrackObama.com website, generating more than 2 million small-donor contributions that helped raise $500 million for the candidate.

Best Job Description

Full or Part Time Front End Developer/Interaction Designer (4+ years experience): (DEV POSITION FILLED)

Ideally you should know what the following acronyms stand for and be able to use any one of them to fix a leaky pipe in my bathroom: CSS, HTML5, PHP, AS (AS3, AS2), C++ (for mobile), and all sorts of APIs. You should know by experience that whatever you don’t understand you can learn quickly. You should be awesome at making JavaScript do things it wasn’t designed to do. You should be okay at making Photoshop do what it was designed to do. You should have sent at least one email to someone you have never met telling them that they should stop using tables. You should know how to interact with a database in a healthy, grown-up, passive-aggressive way. You should tell your coder friends that you are a designer and your designer friends that you are a coder. You should have friends but it is okay if you don’t. You should find an exhilarating beauty in finding a simple solution to a problem. The word “iterate” should roll off of your tongue like a mantra.
